You can come witness this amazing story about accepting people for who they are on March 6 and 7 at 7pm and March 8 at 2pm. Tickets will go on sale February 10th and are $10 for assigned seating and $8 for general admission. ​ Registration Information ALL STUDENT COURSE CHANGES MUST BE MADE ON OR BEFORE​ APRIL 1, 2020 Click "Here" For Registration Information Summer School 2020 Credit Recovery Summer School Informational Flyer Driver Education Summer School Informational Flyer Illinois Science Assessment All 11th-grade students at Civic Memorial High School will take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) on March 2nd and 3rd. The ISA aligns with our new Illinois Learning Standards in science. This assessment helps families understand how well students are performing academically and see whether they are on track to succeed in college. The ISA represents Illinois’ commitment to preparing all students for college and careers, including in the high-demand science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The assessment also satisfies federal accountability requirements. Full Letter PSAT/SAT Testing Information Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s): On Tuesday, April 14th, all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will be involved in a day of testing. Seniors will have a College and Career Day that will be a nonattendance day at the high school. Furthermore, Seniors are encouraged to take the day as an opportunity to visit a college, take a college placement test, meet with a military recruiter, job shadow, or complete community service. Freshmen and Sophomores will take the PSAT, a standardized preparatory test for the SAT. Data from the PSAT will be utilized to help prepare the underclassmen for their SATs. PSAT scores can also be used for underclassmen dual credit enrollment. Juniors will participate in the SAT, which can be used for college admissions decisions, dual credit enrollment, and college course placement. Full Letter Prom 2020 T his year's Prom, "Roarin' 20's" is at Lewis and Clark Community College on April 18th from 6 pm – 9 pm. A plated dinner and dessert will be served from 6 pm – 7 pm. The dance will be from 7 pm – 9 pm. Tickets Sales will be available ONLY on the following dates March 26th, 27th, 30th, and April 2nd, 3rd, and 6th during lunches only. Tickets are $30. Thursday, March 26th, will be for full table sales only. You will need to have a list of the eight people at the table and payment for all eight people. Make sure you know where you want to sit and who you want to sit with because there will be no changes made to the seating chart once you purchase your tickets. All ticket sales are final. The following will prevent you from purchasing Prom tickets: Disciplinary points that are 12 or more. 5 or more unexcused absences 2 or more F's Outstanding Discipline A list of students who cannot purchase tickets will be posted on the Eagle Store window on March 23, 2020, after Quarter 3 grades are finalized. If you have questions about outstanding discipline, please see Ms. Piltz. Also, see Mr. Newell if you have questions about absences or social probation points. Do not wait until the list is posted on March 23, 2020, if you need assistance. You will need a permission form if your date is an underclassman or outside guest. Juniors Hannah Butkovich and Kennedy Loewen are a big part of that resurgence. After a 2018 campaign where the Eagles were 9-7 and enjoyed their first winning season since 1998, they quenched another long drought when Butkovich and Loewen qualified for state. The doubles duo became the first to achieve a state berth since Val McCoy did it in singles in 1997. Full Article Advantage News - Riverbend Football Players of the Year​ Noah Turbyfill of Civic Memorial and David Pluester of Roxana enjoyed excellent seasons on the gridiron in 2019. Both seniors led their teams to postseason appearances, provided leadership for their programs and stuffed the statbooks. The roads to the playoffs were different, as CM started 4-1, in charge of its destiny. The Shells were 1-4 and had to scrape and claw for a first postseason appearance since 2015. “Starting 1-4 wasn’t what we planned on obviously, but we battled in those games with teams like Vandalia. They were all close,” Pluester said. “After that start, I told the guys, we’re winning out. It’s happening.” Full Article CM wins thriller at Triad for share of MVC crown TROY- If anyone on the Civic Memorial sideline didn’t watch Triad’s attempt at a go-ahead field goal late in the fourth quarter Friday night, they certainly didn’t show it. And when Travis Speer’s kick sailed wide left, it set off an Eagles celebration not seen since 2010 . Full Article CROSS COUNTRY ROUNDUP: CM boys, girls advance in 2A The Civic Memorial boys got a medal run from Mark Eldridge and the Eagles girls packed together to advance both Eagles teams out of the Jacksonville Class 2A Regional. ​ CM’s boys claimed the final team slot at the Decatur MacArthur Sectional at Hickory Point Course, while the girls used four finishers between 10th and 16th to take third.
